Week #1 5/26/24-6/1/24
This week on WWE’s weekly programming there were a wide variety of guest appearances and sponsorship spotlights. Monday Night Raw saw a guest appearance from the entertainment baseball team, The Savannah Bananas who could be seen dancing and cheering behind the announcers table in between matches throughout the show. On Tuesday’s episode of NXT, fans would see a guest appearance by rapper Sexyy Red in a cross-promotional collaboration for the upcoming their premium live event and her new album that was released last Friday. Sexyy Red would appear multiple times throughout the 2-hour show. She appeared in both the opening segment where she announced her role in hosting the upcoming live event along with revealing a new title belt and the closing segment of the show by joining the champion in his entrance in the main event of the show. On Friday’s episode of Smackdown we would see two major collaborations being the Prime hydration station which is set up outside the ring and a match sponsored by Snoop Dogg's Gin & Juice company.
AEW had several collaborations during their weekly shows including barricade sponsors and collaboration with the television company that airs their shows. AEW’s barricade sponsor is the sportsbook company DraftKings who also sponsor AEW’s turnbuckles on premium events. AEW also has two championships named after the two channels that their programs air on that are regularly defended on free television. The first title is the TNT championship which is a men's championship that this past weekend was defended in a very dangerous match featuring Adam Copeland one of the biggest stars in AEW which has fans talking regularly about the TNT championship. The other title is the TBS title which is a women’s championship and was featured multiple times on AEW television this week in both segments and matches for the championship. On AEW’s flagship show Dynamite fans also saw a world title match that was sponsored by the tv show House of Dragons and featured world champion Swerve Strickland defending his championship against Luchasaurus which is a dinosaur themed wrestler.
