WWE takes part of historic partnership ahead of their show in the UFC apex arena

WWE this week had several promotional efforts both within the company and outside the company. One of the most important internal promotional efforts within WWE is to place WWE stars from a certain area in crucial roles when visiting cities or countries these superstars are from. We saw this plain as day on this week's episode of “RAW” by setting up rivalries between several champions and Scottish superstars. This is important as WWE is preparing to host a premium live event in Glasgow, Scotland next weekend and knows the more local talent they put on the show the more excited the crowd will get. This is also important for morale in the locker room as superstars like Drew McIntyre, Piper Niven, Alba Fyre, and Esla Dawn have not had the opportunity to perform in front of their families and countrymen on this high of a stage. WWE did not have many promotional spotlights with outside companies on “Raw” except for their weekly prime spotlight that consisted of a giant Prime bottle which has been labeled the Prime Hydration Station.

This week on WWE “NXT” we saw two major collaborations, one of which has never taken place in the history of WWE. This historic event that took place was the collaboration between WWE and fellow professional wrestling company TNA who have agreed to a talent exchange that will allow us to see stars taking on the other companies stars for the first time. The first and biggest superstar we have seen crossover to the other side was TNA women's champion Jordynne Grace who will be taking on NXT women’s champion Roxanne Perez. According to Sports Illustrated writer Fernando Quiles Jr. this historic partnership between WWE and TNA has been in the works for months. The second major collaboration is taking place within WWE’s parent company TKO which will see WWE “NXT” host a premium live event from the UFC apex arena in Las Vegas.

This week in AEW we would see several promotional partnerships and title spotlights. On both “Collision” and “Dynamite” the barricade and turnbuckle sponsor was sportsbook company DraftKings which means throughout the show certain parts of the matches will be moved into position that will allow the cameras to show the logo for DraftKings. On “Dynamite” we would see the TNT championship vacated due to an injury to champion Adam Copeland which caused AEW to announce a ladder match at their next premium live event and throughout the next few weeks the audience will see several qualifying matches which will keep the title relevant and allow fans to continue to talk about it and the upcoming match for the title.

  1. Wow JT this is very interesting. I do not know much about WWE and I think it is very cool with all of the facts you presented. Being a marketing major, and learning about all of the promotional things that are going on is very interesting because that is the kind of thing I will be doing for a company one day. Great Blog, I definitely want to come back to read more!

  2. WWE is something I used to watch when I was in middle school and loved! I never really watched NXT though, all I know about it is that it is like the minor leagues of WWE. I did enjoy reading your article about it and the sponsorships that the sport is gaining. I like the promotion of other sports that typically do not get the recognition as main stream sports.

  3. Good post information. Remember to keep paragraphs very short--just one to three sentences. Also, take your time and revise/proof. For the title, which is very strong, a few things: use title capitalization; it should be "Takes Part IN" rather than "OF"; and no Oxford comma. Also, for your source in the second to last paragraph, name the article title and date, along with SI and the author. And maybe try to pull more useful info from that source. This deal being in the works for months doesn't seem like an important detail. And don't forget to make it matter for the audience--what extra information/insight/added value are you giving them?

  4. I used to enjoy wrestling in my younger days and I'm glad to see that the company is still thriving and expanding off of what they already have. Personally I never heard of NXT but I have friends who are still fans so I will be asking their opinion on it as well.
