Introduction
Whether you are a diehard fan of professional wrestling or someone who still does not know why Dwayne Johnson is sometimes called the Rock, you have probably had some exposure to professional wrestling. Many mainstream media outlets focus on the scandals involving individuals in the professional wrestling industry and it’s legitimacy as a whole. Mainstream media outlets often disregard the positive effect professional wrestling has on individuals lives and the charity work the companies do.
Major wrestling companies such as AEW, WWE, and TNA use cross-promotional collaborations with companies and celebrities in an attempt to gain positive mainstream media attention. In recent months celebrities such as Jelly Roll, Lil Wayne, and Patrick Mahomes have made appearances on professional wrestling shows in an attempt to draw mainstream media attention. Celebrities are not the only ones collaborating with professional wrestling companies, there are currently a number of brands such as Mountain Dew, Dude Wipes, and Draft Kings in which promotional partnerships have been established. Drink company Prime has taken it one step further, signing a partnership with WWE that allows them to be the center ring sponsor for all major shows.
