Major Professional Wrestling Cross Promotion Goes Off without a Hitch

This week in professional wrestling we saw several crossovers and the fallout of one of the biggest crossovers in wrestling that we covered last week. This major crossover is the partnership between WWE and fellow professional wrestling company TNA in a champion vs. champion match. This match took place inside the UFC apex arena which was a partnership between the WWE and UFC and saw NXT women’s champion Roxanne Perez defeat TNA women's champion Jordynne Grace in the match of the night. During this match we would see former WWE superstar and current TNA superstar Ash by Elegance. During this premium live event we would see a number of celebrities that were in attendance such as UFC fighter Khalil Roundtree Jr., Ash Costello lead singer of the band “New Years Day”, and the host of the show rapper Sexyy Redd. Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful said that this will be a continued partnership that will see a number of superstars participate on the other brand.

Elsewhere in WWE we saw our weekly Prime hydration station on both “Raw” and “Smackdown”. ESPN tv host Pat McAfee who does weekly commentary for “Raw” would have a spotlight as he would do comedic introductions for the main event of the show. On “Smackdown” we would see the entire show being sponsored by progressive and multiple embedded ads within the show.`This week on TNA we would see 2 different ring sponsors, those being AXS tv and Fight Network both of which stream their weekly shows.

On AEW we would see very similar promotional pieces that we have seen in previous weeks. The first weekly sponsor we would see is DraftKings sportsbook which sponsored the turnbuckles, the outside of the ring, and the barricade outside of the ring.we would see multiple matches for both the TNT championship and the TBS championship. The Last major sponsorship we would see is the logo of wrestling legend Ric Flair’s energy drink company called WOO Energy and could be seen on the jumbotron as superstars enter. This is a very controversial sponsorship as Ric Flair has a very dark past and has been known to manipulate women in the past.the last sponsor we saw was with Youtooz, which make cartoon figures similar to popular figure company Funko.

  1. Good post. Remember, you need an attributed source for each post, keep your paragraphs quite short (one to three sentences and a single idea), TV is always capitalized, numbers up to ten should be words, take your time revising, and add value--I'm not convinced I see added value here.

  2. These sponsorships are interesting throughout a WWE show. I never really noticed all the different sponsorships that they have just around the arena. This is definitely a big money generator for the brand and allows them to do what they do. It is crazy how big a role sponsorships play when it comes to branding and advertising to get their company name out there.

  3. Hello JT I am back again and once again I loved what you wrote. I think it is very interesting how you wrote about a major failure within the industry. Crossovers can be very beneficial when successful, many shows I have watched have done so. The Ric Flair facts were very interesting because I have heard about him, but I honestly do not know anything about him. Good Job on this blog!
