CM Punk Taunts Rival In Home Country

Image
This week on WWE television we saw a lot of our regular weekly sponsors along with a few new sponsors. The weekly sponsorships we saw included progressive sponsoring “Smackdown” and the Prime hydration station on both “Raw” and “Smackdown”. The first one off sponsorship spot we saw was for the venue  for Raw '' which took place in Corpus Christi, Texas. In the background of several backstage segments the logo for the Texas A&M Corpus Christi Islanders could be seen very clearly. Last weekend on the premium live event “Clash At The Castle” when CM Punk could be seen wearing a Celtic Football Club jersey as he is currently in a rivalry with Drew McIntyre. This is important as Drew McIntyre is from Glasgow, Scotland but is a fan Celtic Football Clubs rival Ranger Football Club which played into the rivalry with CM Punk. This come along with the announcement from Fightfuls Robert Defelice where he said CM Punk is very close to being medically cleared to wrestle again. On “NX...

Major Professional Wrestling Cross Promotion Goes Off without a Hitch

This week in professional wrestling we saw several crossovers and the fallout of one of the biggest crossovers in wrestling that we covered last week. This major crossover is the partnership between WWE and fellow professional wrestling company TNA in a champion vs. champion match. This match took place inside the UFC apex arena which was a partnership between the WWE and UFC and saw NXT women’s champion Roxanne Perez defeat TNA women's champion Jordynne Grace in the match of the night. During this match we would see former WWE superstar and current TNA superstar Ash by Elegance. During this premium live event we would see a number of celebrities that were in attendance such as UFC fighter Khalil Roundtree Jr., Ash Costello lead singer of the band “New Years Day”, and the host of the show rapper Sexyy Redd. Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful said that this will be a continued partnership that will see a number of superstars participate on the other brand. Elsewhere ...

WWE takes part of historic partnership ahead of their show in the UFC apex arena

WWE this week had several promotional efforts both within the company and outside the company. One of the most important internal promotional efforts within WWE is to place WWE stars from a certain area in crucial roles when visiting cities or countries these superstars are from. We saw this plain as day on this week's episode of “RAW” by setting up rivalries between several champions and Scottish superstars. This is important as WWE is preparing to host a premium live event in Glasgow, Scotland next weekend and knows the more local talent they put on the show the more excited the crowd will get. This is also important for morale in the locker room as superstars like Drew McIntyre, Piper Niven, Alba Fyre, and Esla Dawn have not had the opportunity to perform in front of their families and countrymen on this high of a stage. WWE did not have many promotional spotlights with outside companies on “Raw” except for their weekly prime spotlight that consisted o...

Week #1 5/26/24-6/1/24

This week on WWE’s weekly programming there were a wide variety of guest appearances and sponsorship spotlights. Monday Night Raw saw a guest appearance from the entertainment baseball team, The Savannah Bananas who could be seen dancing and cheering behind the announcers table in between matches throughout the show. On Tuesday’s episode of NXT, fans would see a guest appearance by rapper Sexyy Red in a cross-promotional collaboration for the upcoming their premium live event and her new album that was released last Friday. Sexyy Red would appear multiple times throughout the 2-hour show. She appeared in both the opening segment where she announced her role in hosting the upcoming live event along with revealing a new title belt and the closing segment of the show by joining the champion in his entrance in the main event of the show. On Friday’s episode of Smackdown we would see two major collaborations being the Prime hydration station which is set up outside the ring and a matc...

Introduction

Whether you are a diehard fan of professional wrestling or someone who still does not know why Dwayne Johnson is sometimes called the Rock, you have probably had some exposure to professional wrestling. Many mainstream media outlets focus on the scandals involving individuals in the professional wrestling industry and it’s legitimacy as a whole. Mainstream media outlets often disregard the positive effect professional wrestling has on individuals lives and the charity work the companies do.      Major wrestling companies such as AEW, WWE, and TNA use cross-promotional collaborations with companies and celebrities in an attempt to gain positive mainstream media attention. In recent months celebrities such as Jelly Roll, Lil Wayne, and Patrick Mahomes have made appearances on professional wrestling shows in an attempt to draw mainstream media attention. Celebrities are not the only ones collaborating with professional wrestling companies, there are curre...
